The Role
Bitly is seeking a mission-driven and relentlessly curious Technical Product Manager with a strong technical background and experience developing SaaS products and solutions that solve critical customer pain points. As a Technical Product Manager - Data Platform, you will help drive the product strategy, roadmap, and vision that establishes data as a core part of our platform. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into customer benefits is crucial. In this role, you will be a core part of the Data Platform team and work closely with Business Intelligence as well as our Product Engineering teams to democratize access to data and ensure it is used effectively to drive decision-making.
 
What You'll Do
  • Ensure Bitly’s data is accurate, complete, consistent, timely, valid and ultimately supports the company and enables sound decision-making
  • Be a champion for data and grow data literacy across the organization
  • Translate requirements of large data initiatives into clearly prioritized, well-scoped, actionable user stories
  • Identify market opportunities, build business cases, and help shape and define product vision and strategy for the entire company in collaboration with the Data Platform team
  • Understand customer pain points, come up with solutions, and then prototype, iterate, and launch frequently. Articulate and design customer experiences that delight the user
  • Take a data-driven approach in defining success metrics, prioritizing requirements, and communicating plans, progress, and success
  • Gather requirements, define functionality, and set goals in a clear, actionable format that can be used to communicate with the team and drive product delivery
  • Lead a cross-functional agile team of data engineers
  • Develop the data product roadmap and be its evangelist for a cross-functional team of PMs, engineers, and stakeholders
  • Be an owner of features and products, end to end
 
Who You Are
  • 3+ years of data product management, or related experience, at a technology and data-driven company
  • Ability to work effectively across technical, product, and business stakeholders.
  • Have a proven track record of leveraging data-driven insights to deliver business results
  • Ability to drive vision & strategy across a team of PMs, engineers, analysts, designers, and marketers
  • Very strong communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with cross-functional teams, and third parties
  • Experience working in agile environments
  • Ability to work with limited direction across multiple projects -- self-starter personality is a must
  • Comfort diving into large, complex datasets with little or no documentation
  • Willingness to take on big challenges and own the results from ideation through execution
  • A customer centric mindset and an empathy for the humans behind the numbers
  • Bring grit, a willingness to roll up your sleeves, and be a hands-on help to your team

The annual cash compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
