Infogrid is helping protect the planet and improve the lives of billions of people by making every building a smart building.

Our goal is to be the global provider for connected devices in smart buildings. We already handle millions of events every day from tens of thousands of sensors and we’d like you to help us scale that by an order of magnitude over the coming months.

Sustainability is at our heart; buildings account for 39% of global carbon emissions and we’re creating real solutions to impact this!

We are still early in our journey but have already achieved a lot; we raised a successful series A funding round, grew 5x in employee numbers within 12 months, and voted one of the top 10 most flexible places to work.

Want to know more about how we'd building Infogrid? Our CTO wrote a blog post about this.

The Role:

As Director of Analytics and BI, you will grow and nurture the Infogrid Data Culture.  Building a new capability within a high-growth business, you will need to grow new teams, establish best practices and ways of working, influence and prioritise at all levels and across many diverse areas.  Success is about more than hiring a team though; you will be responsible for ensuring everyone has access to the data, the tools and the skills they need to make good decisions quickly, easily and routinely using data.

Your team will be responsible both for tracking company OKRs and enabling their delivery through improved data usage in product and commercial teams.

You’ll champion data-driven decisioning across all areas of the business and be a role model for data culture and best practice.
Working for the VP of Data as part of the Data, product and Tech leadership team you will have full ownership of and accountability for the BI/Analytics roadmap, as well as playing a key role in defining our company Data Strategy.

What does the role involve?

    • Ownership of, and accountability for data culture as a pillar of our data strategy, working as part of the Data, Tech and Product leadership team.

    • Work across a wide range of different areas including (but by no means limited to) finance (including fundraising and M&A), sales, product analytics and industry insights, people experience and product development.
    • Facilitate prioritisation of the Analytics/BI roadmap, working closely with senior stakeholders and peers across Data, Product and Tech to deliver tangible commercial value.Lead by example: be a champion for the application of data to decision making and a role model for data culture
    • Ensure at all times that our data, especially customer and personal data, is kept secure, is used appropriately and is treated with respect.
    • Develop a centre of excellence for analytics and BI, from which to support future growth with democratisation and self serve
    • Embed data analytics and systematic experimentation methods in our product development and commercial operations.
    • Lead the development of rich data visualisation and compelling storytelling to explain trends and help stakeholders to engage with data

What do I need to bring with me?

    • Exceptional track record of building data culture across an entire organisation.
    • Building teams, processes and working practices that promote data literacy and make data-driven decisions natural and easy for all.
    • People-oriented: build, organise and motivate a team that supports a diverse range of initiatives.
    • Mentoring and development of those in your team and across the organisation as a whole.
    • Influencing and communicating - ability to work with stakeholders across a variety of functions at all levels, right up to the exec.
    • Own prioritisation of BI and Analytics work across the business.
    • A commercial mind - ability to understand the commercial imperatives behind the data needs.
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills - particularly strong in explaining and presenting complex data and analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
    • Experience working with a variety of large-scale datasets across multiple domains: Finance, Sales, Analytics
