About The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Director of Reporting & Analytics to join our data-driven Product org and drive business growth by surfacing key insights that inform strategic decisions. You’ll manage and grow a team of Product Analysts and BI Analysts who work closely with Product and Marketing teams, reporting on core business metrics, A/B test analysis, investigations on changes in trends, and proactive analysis to surface areas of opportunity. You and your team will communicate results and recommendations through insightful visualizations, reports and presentations with actionable information. You will identify and develop more efficient reporting tools and processes that provide easy access to data and increase the productivity of our analysts and their stakeholders.

 We are seeking a proactive thought leader with a strong foundation in statistics, an affinity for translating data to key insights, effective communication skills, and a desire to solve data problems that fuel our business! 

What You Will Do

During the First Month:

  • Learn about Niche by meeting with various team members to learn more about our company through our Onboarding meetings
  • Collaborate with various team members to learn about the company
  • Work with Product and BI Analysts to learn about our currents tools, workflow, and analytical processes
  • Shadow team members to learn more about how we collaborate with other areas of the business and how your role fits with stakeholders and teams
  • Gain context and understanding of our business goals and focus areas
  • Learn how we query data from our databases and external data sources, like Google Analytics
  • Understand how we clean and analyze data using R and Python
  • Take over as direct manager for analysts on the product team and establish group meetings and recurring 1:1s
  • Take on role as hiring manager for openings within your team

Within 3 Months:

  • Gain a deep understanding of our organization, how different teams work, our company goals and your teams’ role in driving our goals
  • Gain deep understanding of PDO (Product Development Org)’s workflows, focus areas, goals and your teams’ role within
  • Build a deep understanding of the business and its goals to help you ask and answer transformational questions with data
  • Build up an expertise in our current reporting tools
  • Identify areas for improvements in our reporting tools and workflows and develop plans for implementing change
  • Work with direct reports to develop and make progress on individual and team goals
  • Proactively surface insights that inform business opportunities and actionable steps
  • Partner with engineering as a key stakeholder in a larger company initiative to make our data more accessible

Within 6 Months:

  • Provide the insights that inform overall product and business strategy
  • Own and optimize processes to efficiently scale analytics workflows
  • Make significant progress in the consistency and accessibility of reporting and analytics across the organization
  • Take steps toward establishing a new data visualization platform
  • Grow the skills and size of your team to support business needs

What We Are Looking For

  • Passion for using data and research to solve problems
  • Ability to translate vague requirements into prioritized problems to solve
  • Demonstrated success in delivering measurable impact on business goals
  • Expert knowledge of statistics, analytics, data, A/B testing and visualization software
  • Expert knowledge of SQL, R, Python, Google Analytics and AWS/Cloud computing
  • Demonstrated success in delivering measurable impact on business goals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including communicating complex analysis to different audiences
  • 3+ years of Management experience
