About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Google Analytics Specialist to join the Reporting and Analytics team. You’ll be the in-house expert on Google Analytics, leading our effort to improve and manage our event tracking and overall effectiveness of Google Analytics data. Niche has expansive event tracking now, but we are looking to level up by being more organized, more efficient and collecting more data. This role will be directly responsible for event tracking and the design of our custom dimensions.  The ultimate goal is to then build automated reporting within the Google infrastructure (Analytics, Visual Studio, Cloud Platform) that makes the organization more self-sufficient with analytics.  You will support and partner with the BI and Product analysts who are responsible for using GA data to create deeper insights and recommendations. 

 

What You Will Do

 

During the First Month:

  • Learn about Niche by meeting with various team members to learn more about our company through our Onboarding meetings
  • Work with members of the Reporting and Analytics team to begin to understand our users and current product initiatives and KPIs
  • Collaborate with Analysts across the Reporting and Analytics department to learn about our tools, workflow and analytical process
  • Shadow Reporting and Analytics Team members to learn more about how we collaborate with other areas of the business and how your role fits with external stakeholders and teams.
  • Learn how to query data from our databases, including current GA setup

 

Within 3 Months:

  • Gain a deep understanding of our organization and how different teams work
  • Create a full assessment of current state of Google Analytics focused on our custom dimensions, existing event tags, and the current processes for implementing and analyzing event tags
  • Create a recommendation and plan for the future state of GA at Niche
  • Begin collaboration with stakeholders to share GA plan and modify the plan with feedback

 

Within 6 Months:

  • Overhaul custom dimensions for Google Analytics
  • Overhaul process for implementing new tags
  • Begin process for improving existing tags, if needed

 

Within 12 Months:

  • You will have fully overhauled existing base of event tags and improved the process for implementing and monitoring new tags
  • You will be in the process of building out automated reporting within Google Analytics and other google tools
  • You will own management of tagging procedures and processes for continuous improvement
  • You will support the Product Analytics team by managing tasks within the GA infrastructure.  May include:
  • Reporting A/B test outcomes
  • Ad Hoc research for product teams
  • Support for SEO analysis using Google Search Console

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Expertise with Google Analytics
  • Expertise with Google Tag Manager
  • Experience with complex implementation of event tagging
  • GAIQ certification is a big plus
  • Great collaborator 
  • Critical thinking, ability to contextualize and connect information
  • Ability to proactively identify relevant business problems and propose solutions
  • Effective communication of complex analyses to different audiences
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python
  • Experience specifically working with a web/technology product
  • Useful Experience
  • Understanding of web advertising/remarketing
  • Experience with statistical and analytical methods including A/B testing
  • Understanding of SaaS business strategy
  • Understanding of K-12 and/or college admissions processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
