Role Overview:

As the Director, Finance Data, you serve as the Company’s financial data subject matter expert and play a key role in defining our key success metrics and establishing a single source of truth with a scalable, robust, and automated reporting system. You lead the strategic management of financial data to drive insightful and accurate analyses.  Additionally, you are responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives in financial data processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

What you do each day:  

  • Build a deep understanding of our Company’s financial data and key success metrics that drive the business
  • Develop definitions for non-GAAP metrics, supported by public precedents or strong business rationale
  • Drive the identification and testing of leading indicators of the key success metrics 
  • Prepare sensitivity analysis of these key metrics, linked to the leading indicators as above
  • Consolidate and reconcile datasets; translating insights into reporting and dashboards
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of financial reporting systems to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
  • Utilize technical knowledge to automate key processes and explore use cases for automation / robotic process automation
  • Keep apprised of industry trends and best practices in finance data management 
  • Report to the Executive team on a regular basis company performance for all key non GAAP metrics

Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years experience in a Finance Data role or relevant field
  • BA/BS degree with a quantitative focus or equivalent practical experience (Advanced degree preferred)
  • Experience with SaaS revenue models and associated key operating metrics
  • Deep experience combining datasets, cleansing data, and improving finance processes via automation
  • Experience developing internal controls to ensure accuracy of reported data, with self checking or double checking mechanisms

What will help you succeed in this role:

  • Ability to articulate advantages and disadvantages of potential metric definitions based on varying business outcomes or economic environments
  • Deep experience in working with data engineering teams to define requirements / identify relevant datasets
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Accounting, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to develop and implement reporting frameworks

Location Dependent Information

This role is open to candidates and the expected salary range for this role is $143,000-$168,000 + Bonus + Equity. The specific salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible to participate in Housecall Pro’s equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability), employee assistance program, 401(K), flexible time off, paid parental leave, tech reimbursement, and other company benefits.
