About the Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Headspace:

We are looking for a highly technical and senior engineer to join our Machine Learning team. As a member of the Machine Learning team you will be responsible for architecting, planning and executing the team’s roadmap. As a principal engineer you will be expected to be the domain owner of all things Machine Learning at Headspace and provide mentorship to other engineers.  



Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Maryland + Washington DC, North Carolina and Washington. 

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

    • Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems
    • Write well designed, testable, performant, and efficient code
    • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
    • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
    • Work with product and engineering teams to release services and models that operate at high volume
    • Architect a future looking Machine Learning deployment and feedback loop architecture

What you’ve accomplished:

    • 10+ years of software engineering experience
    • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related experience
    • Proven hands-on Software Development experience, especially API and microservices architecture
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Java, Typescript, Python experience is a plus
    • Experience with cloud ML platforms (AWS Sagemaker, Google AI Platform, Databricks MLFlow)
    • Nice to Have:5+ years hands-on experience building, maintaining, performance tuning and deploying streaming ETL workflows to production environments using:Apache Spark (Spark Streaming from Redishift/Kinesis/S3, Spark MLlib, PySpark)
    • Nice to Have: Designed and implemented event based architectures
