About the Senior Director of Product, Infrastructure & Machine Learning at Headspace:

Headspace is looking for a Sr. Director or Product, Infrastructure and Machine Learning with large-scale distributed software systems experience and a background in data/machine learning systems. This person will be deeply involved in identifying longer term strategies and building scalable, secure, reliable, efficient, and privacy focused Data and ML products and platforms. This person will partner closely with engineering, product and other cross-functional teams to identify problem statements, create roadmaps, scope programs aligning them with business priorities, define milestones and success metric, and drive them to completion by aligning and leading large cross-functional teams.
Reporting to the VP of Product, this individual will manage a team of product managers to accelerate Headspace’s efforts to deliver personalized mental health and wellness at-scale. Working with passionate and creative cross-functional teams, this person will play a critical role in delivering against our mission of “Improving the health and happiness of the world."



Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Maryland + Washington DC, North Carolina and Washington.

    • Lead a team building infrastructure needed to scale to tens of millions of members.
    • Work with cross-functional leaders of product, engineering and data to effectively align roadmaps based on company priorities, set clear and measurable objectives, and deploy team resources appropriately to achieve business goals. 
    • Help turbocharge a rigorous data culture using quantitative and qualitative measures that tie to company objectives.
    • Oversee multiple projects and align them with business priorities & deadlines

What you’ve accomplished:

    • 8+ years of experience in Technical Product Management with a focus on building highly available and highly scalable infrastructure that support entire organizations.
    • You have built infrastructure to train and deploy ML models at-scale.
    • 5+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
    • Experience delivering tech products from inception to delivery.
    • Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
    • 5+ years of experience hiring and managing a product management team
    • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
    • Excellent written, communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail, with an ability to effectively present to executive staff and key stakeholders
    • Previous experience in working with and coordinating large-scale projects across teams 
    • Strong passion for creating engaging and high-quality experiences
    • Ability to deconstruct industry and competitor trends to inform roadmaps
    • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
