Overview:

LivePerson is growing fast, and we want our technology to keep up. We’re seeking a SDE II, Voice Analytics Platform to help define how we accomplish our goal, and to help us achieve it.

You will:

  • Expand our workflow system with new tasks analyzing speech and messaging conversations
  • Break down complex requirements and transform them into clean modular designs.
  • Lead in the design and implementation of significant portions of the product and serve as a senior member of a high-performing software development team.
  • Build scalable, fault-tolerant microservices that work with large data sets.
  • Take ownership and accountability.
  • Collaborate with a distributed team.
  • Work in an Agile environment while releasing code frequently to production.
  • Work closely with data scientists and business analysts
  • Help to create reliable, scalable, high performance and uptime (99.999%) software solutions deployed in a public cloud environment using the latest software, automations and testing tools available.
  • Advocate and execute on automated testing strategies in all developed code and help to ensure code quality and consistency for your team.

You have:

  • A Java engineer with 5+ years of experience who loves building scalable platforms.
  • Experience with the Java ecosystem and the Spring framework.
  • Experience with Data Warehouses, star schema, ETL processing
  • Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Experience with microservices using containers and Kubernetes.
  • Able to analyze algorithms and design efficient solutions, ability to solve problems with ingenuity.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Helpful – Experience with Voice Analytics, Automatic Speech Recognition, and Machine Learning and NLP.

Required background:

  • Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithm Design, Design Patterns
  • Strong programming skills in Java 
  • Knowledge of Databases (SQL, NoSQL, Columnar) like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL etc
  • Experience creating containers, familiarity with Docker/Minikube/Kubernetes
  • Experience building REST APIs using Spring MVC or other frameworks
  • Experience with Maven, Gradle, Git and other Development tools.
  • Strong OO design and implementation experience, strong knowledge of web protocols, and knowledge of distributed systems architectures.
  • Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical audiences & influence at different organizational levels.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with messaging systems, e.g. JMS, Pulsar, Kinesis
  • Experience with workflow systems
  • Cloud Native Data Engineering Experience, and/or CI/CD or ML Ops 
  • Familiarity working with systems with strict Data Privacy and Security requirements,
  • Familiar with Machine Learning and NLP
