ClickUp is looking for an experienced analytics engineer with a focus on creating operational data models to empower analytics and machine learning.  Your work will bring life to our internal and external data products.  Your end users will be both the ClickUp Team and the platform’s amazing users, meaning you will have a wide impact across the company.

The Stack:

  • - AWS (backbone architecture).
  • - Airflow (data ingestion).
  • - Fivetran (data ingestion).
  • - Snowflake (data warehouse).
  • - DBT Cloud (data modeling/monitoring).
  • - Census (reverse ETL).
  • - Tableau.

The Role:

  • - Advanced DBT data modeling.
  • - Accelerating the development of our scalable data infrastructure stack by creating efficient ETL pipelines and providing robust data monitoring.
  • - DBT performance improvements and materialization optimization.
  • - Coordinating with our Data Engineering Team and providing strategic input on how our BI stack evolves.
  • - Data warehouse architecture design.
  • - Recommend and implement performance improvement practices to enable near real-time data consumption and analytics.
  • - The enablement of ClickUp analytics team members through helping them use new datasets that drive decision making processes for the business.
  • - Assist in the curation and visualization of metrics, including Key Performance Indicators that drive operational and strategic success.
  • - The establishment and communication of analytics-related standards, including code review, governance of processes, visualization standards, clearly defined use cases, and data security measures.
  • - Interfacing closely with Analysts, Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Engineers, as well as other operational teams within the business to promote an understanding of company data needs and capabilities.


  • - Expertise with SQL and at least one programming language (Python, R, etc.).
  • - Production experience with DBT.
  • - Expertise with business intelligence data modeling and systems (Tableau, etc.).
  • - Track record of training and enabling users of analytics tools and methods.
  • - Great foundation in Database Systems.
  • - Strong analytical skills.
  • - Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities.
  • - Experience with data warehousing architecture and data modeling standards.
