ezCater is the world’s largest online marketplace for catering – a $60+ billion market just in the U.S. Businesspeople use us to find and order great food for meetings and events; restaurants and caterers use us to grow their catering business. We’re backed by Insight Partners, Iconiq Capital, Wellington, Lightspeed, and GIC, and in early 2019 were valued at $1.25 billion. COVID slammed us, but we responded by finding new customer segments and seizing the rare opportunity COVID offered: when in life does a very successful operation get a do-over? Come help us power Food For Work even better than we did it the first time.

ezCater is growing our Business Intelligence function and is looking to add a Business Intelligence expert to expand our capabilities within the Marketing space.  As the senior BI professional in our organization, this role will have the opportunity to develop the function both within the marketing team, and as a consultative partner to other teams.  This role will leverage their expertise with data structures, quality, visualization and self-serve enablement to maximize the ability for business stakeholders to derive value from our modern and constantly improving technical stack.  This role will be a partner to both business and technical stakeholders as a member of a team that prides themselves as collaborative and helpful experts in their fields.

Are you passionate about leveraging data to drive meaningful impact across a high-impact and high-visibility function? Do you have opinions on how to best curate, structure and visualize data to maximize its business value? Do you believe in the power of democratizing access to information? Then we should definitely talk!

At ezCater, data is at the root of every decision we make. Understanding who our customers are and how we can best serve them while helping them safely feed their workforce is core to our food@work mission. As our business matures, our data needs across the organization are becoming increasingly complex and it is time to take a major step forward.

What You'll Do:

    • Partner with BI Specialists and Data Engineering to lead the rollout and ongoing management of self-service business intelligence capabilities across the company.
    • Partner with Data Technology stakeholders to design, model and govern information assets for sophisticated end-user BI use cases.
    • Serve as an internal expert in your field to all business units; coach BI Specialists to maximize the effectiveness of our BI dashboards and self service tools through a focus on data quality, lineage and visualization.
    • Own the roadmap for Marketing Business Intelligence - lead define and design sessions in partnership with broad stakeholder groups to ensure prioritization and long term sustainability is clear.
    • Collaborate with business and technology teams to implement and uphold data governance standards across our BI systems.
    • Lead team members in the BI space and the broader Marketing Analytics function. Serve as a mentor and coach to others in the organization looking to grow their skills in Business Intelligence.

You Have:

    • Experience leading a high performing business intelligence team leveraging data from multiple sources and a matrixed stakeholder environment.
    • Experience with BI Tool implementation, including self-service design patterns, data modeling & stakeholder change management.
    • A belief that well crafted business intelligence is an art form, and you take pride in both creating gallery level work and teaching others your craft.
    • Expertise with common business intelligence applications, especially Tableau, SiSense  or similar tools.
    • Previous experience with Data Quality and Governance tools (Informatica, Ataccama, Calibra) a plus.
    • Expert level SQL skills.  Experience with Snowflake, DBT, AWS a plus.
    • A sharp mind, a soft heart and a large funny bone.
Salary Range: $130,000-$176,000.

What you’ll get from us:
You’ll get a terrifically compelling opportunity, in an environment of radical transparency, open access to all the data, and collaborative colleagues at every level of our organization. You’ll also get sane working hours and great flexibility around work/life balance.

Have people in your life – of any age – who always, often, or sometimes need your help? We make room for that. Have a bad thing or a good thing happen to you? We make room for that, too.

Oh, and you’ll get all this: Market salary, stock options that you’ll help make worth a lot, the usual holidays, all-you-can-eat vacation, 401K with ezCater match, health/dental/FSA, long-term disability insurance, remote-hybrid work from our awesome Boston or Denver offices OR your home OR a mixture of both home and office (you choose!), a tremendous amount of responsibility and autonomy, wicked awesome co-workers, cupcakes (and many more goodies) once we get back to our offices, and knowing that you helped get this rocket ship to the moon.
