We’re looking for a Lead Data Analyst to support strategic initiatives in our Higher Education division. This is a remote position and can be based anywhere within the United States.
 
How can you make an impact? 
We are looking for a highly motivated and self-starter Lead Data Analyst to support data-driven development of new platforms and service models at McGraw Hill Higher Education. This role will partner directly with product, engineering, marketing, and business teams in producing actionable insights, develop analytic solutions, and provide leadership in driving decisions with data.
 
What you will be doing: 
- Become a trusted partner who provides expert advice in the usage and interpretation of data, translating business questions to data questions.
- Design, architect and build scalable, robust solutions which provide insights to performance on key business, product, and marketing initiatives.
- Build/automate dashboards and compelling data visualizations to provide meaningful insights.
- Identify key levers and opportunities in the business as well as in our analytical measurement approach.
- Ensure high data quality in deliverables by thoroughly validating data products and independently problem-solving root cause issues.
- Create and maintain business metrics documentation.
 
We’re looking for someone with:
- Degree in a quantitative field like statistics, economics, applied math, engineering, or finance; MBA a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a data analytics/data science role in a data driven B2C environment, experience with DTC digital subscription services a strong plus, education industry experience a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset, focused to business results; able to communicate clear recommendations in complex areas to non-technical audience.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative matrixed environment, negotiate challenges, explain technical considerations, and recommend solutions.
- Strong experience with web analytics tools like Google Analytics/Adobe.
- Experience with BI/analytical tools like Alteryx and Tableau; proficient in SQL; knowledge of enterprise-wide systems (Oracle), databases, ETL pipelines.
- Experience in statistical inference and machine learning techniques a strong plus (A|B testing, classification, etc.).
