Our Platform team is growing, this time, we are seeking to add a high-impact Lead Data Scientist to our Data Science team. This role responsible for leading a team of data scientists and overseeing data-driven projects within Thrive Market. You'll have the opportunity to build data science the way you think it's intended for our subscribers needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of data scientists, including task assignment, project management, and performance evaluation
• Develop and implement advanced analytical models, algorithms, and statistical methods to extract insights and solve complex business problems. This includes data preprocessing, feature engineering, predictive modeling, machine learning, and deep learning techniques
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as business executives, product managers, and engineers, to understand business goals and define data-driven strategies. Identify opportunities where data science can drive business value and provide recommendations to improve products, processes, and customer experiences
• Explore and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights
• Present findings to stakeholders using data visualization tools and techniques, making complex concepts understandable to non-technical audiences
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies
• Provide guidance and expertise in selecting appropriate tools, frameworks, and programming languages to support data science projects
• Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing within the team and across departments
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, enabling them to make informed decisions based on data insights
• Define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines; Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results
• Manage resource allocation and prioritize tasks to meet business objectives
• Encourage a culture of learning and innovation within the team
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, and drive the adoption of best practices to enhance the team's capabilities and overall performance
• Document methodologies, assumptions, and results of data science projects
• Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations for various stakeholders, including senior management
• Convey concise and actionable stories through data to different stakeholders of the company
• Apply advanced analytical techniques to extract insights from large and complex datasets to drive business decisions and strategies

QUALIFICATIONS:

• M.S. or Ph.D degree in statistics, computer science, operations research, computational physics, engineering, or related field
• At least 6+ years of data science experience in eCommerce, SaaS, or other digital based businesses
• Strong understanding of online advertising, A/B testing, cohort analysis, conversion optimization, customer segmentation, etc.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised data mining algorithms like deep learning, support vector machines, boosting, LDA, and logistic regression, etc
• Proficiency in at least one high level programming language like Python / Java / C++.Experience with large scale data analysis in Spark, Pandas or Hive is a plus
• Experience using data visualization frameworks such as Matplotlib, Domo/Tableau or related programs is a plus
• Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills - we work cohesively and want to bring in folks who seek to drive unity
• Ability to independently lead and execute projects
• Curious, hungry, proactive, results-oriented, data-driven, and thrives in fast-paced, team-oriented environments

JOB INFORMATION:

• Compensation Description - The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000/Per Year.
• Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and geographic location.
