The Test Development group is responsible for designing reliable and valid language tests based on theories of linguistics and psychology, informed by an understanding of automatic speech recognition and natural language processing. We have an exceptional opportunity for a highly organized, detail-focused, self-driven PSYCHOMETRICS DATA MANAGER with quantitative skills in data manipulation, test design, analysis, and psychometrics.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • managing the creation of datasets from existing test responses and scores stored in large databases

  • manipulating those datasets to include the right variables and have them structured in the right way

  • doing quality control checks on the data

  • performing psychometric or statistical analysis on those datasets

  • presenting and helping interpret those results in technical reports and presentations

  • using interpretations of psychometric and statistical analyses to help guide test design

Required experience will include:

  • M.A. in Educational Measurement, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Psychometrics

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in IRT-based psychometrics and data analysis

  • Knowledge and skilled in:

  • MS Excel and R packages for Statistics for data examination, manipulation, plotting and analysis

  • Knowledge of existing psychometrics software like Winsteps, IRTPro, R packages

  • Experience accessing large databases with queries such as those used in SQL

  • Programming in R, python, SQL, or similar packages

  • Optional: other data manipulation software like SPSS, python, SAS

  • Optional: machine learning and other kinds of data modeling

  • High level of organizational abilities; organize/synthesize information from multiple sources

  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills; ability to solve complex conceptual problems implementing problem solutions proactively

  • Effective communication in oral and written communications with ability to work effectively in a team setting

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be a self-starter; need little direction to get results

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is 90,000.. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program as well.
