Position Summary: (Remote Position)

As part of the Pearson Virtual Schools Analytics Center of Excellence team you’ll be tasked with an exciting opportunity to show off your skills within a growing Analytics team. You will be able jump into the current EDW project and will have expert experience with all big-tech data management tools. You will have advanced experience with ETL and data analysis using Python and SQL, and to cut and join data from multiple sources and provide actionable insights to the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment

  • Develop and maintain pipelines of analysis

  • Extract answers from questions raised by multiple data sources

  • Create visuals and reports to tell a meaningful story

  • Connect multiple services into a cohesive output

  • Utilize Python and SQL for data analytics, ETL, and API development

  • Create adhoc reports based on immediate needs as they present themselves

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a B2C/D2C business in big-tech data management including but not limited to: data clustering, ETL, data structuring best practices, master data schemas, BI, etc.

  • Extensive experience with Python and SQL (additional programming languages a plus)

  • Extensive experience with version control and git (experience with Google Source within GCP a plus)

  • Hands-on experience with Big Query/GCP (preferred), Snowflake or comparable big-tech data tools

  • Knowledge of microservice concepts (experience with Google Functions within GCP a plus)

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, technology-based environment with the ability to handle multiple projects

  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic, who can work independently, or as a member of a team

  • Willingness to learn new technology with ability to deal with and manage through ambiguity

  • Ability to derive deep insights from data analyses for business stakeholders to empower data-informed decisions and the willingness to take on new challenges

  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, with ability to manage multiple, competing priorities

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $90,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here .
