Position Summary:
The Civic Engagement and Voter Protection (CEVP) Technology and Data Director will collaborate with the DNC’s Voter Protection team, DNC’s Tech and Data Teams, other departments of the DNC, and with Democrats around the country to help ensure that every vote is protected. 

This is a unique position at the nexus of voter protection, technology, and data analysis. The CEVP Technology and Data Director will handle the day-to-day software administration of the department; liaise with the DNC Technology team on software development priorities; and be the department’s driving force for advancing technology needs and priorities. 

Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Primary administrator for data and technology tools (Votebuilder/VAN; LBJ);  
    • Provide technical support for the DNC’s year round Voter Assistance Hotline; 
    • Serve as the liaison to the DNC Tech Department’s Data Users and Voting Services Team;
    • Provide leadership and direction on feature development and improvements of voter protection technology tools to ensure that they meet the operational needs for voter protection programs; 
    • Work with the Voter Protection Insight Analyst, the DNC data team (and others as necessary) to manage programs and projects relating to: voter registration trends, voter file purges, early voting centers and polling places, and/or election day incident data and training on voter protection technology tools;
    • Identify opportunities to develop new voter protection data tools and products that help Democrats fully leverage data in their decision-making;
    • Provide key input into the development of the overall civic engagement and voter protection data and technology priorities and strategies.

    • A proven ability to write for and speak to multiple audiences and translate complex information clearly; 
    • A passion for working collaboratively and building relationships with diverse groups and individuals;

    • A strong commitment to advancing the Democratic agenda, strengthening the Democratic Party, and winning elections.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience;
    • Relevant experience for this position may include (but is not limited to): data or technology work for a campaign; voter protection related campaign work; product Management or Technical Program Management experience; or IT help desk related experience;
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to handle mission critical communication with senior management in high pressure situations;
    • Experience solving challenging technological problems with multiple constraints;
    • Experience managing the lifecycle of a complex cross-functional program; 
    • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle from conception to delivery;
    • A proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects;
    • A passion for voting rights and electing Democrats up and down the ballot.
