Responsibilities/Duties

    • As a Voter Protection Tech and Data Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the foundation of voter protection efforts. Working under the guidance of the DNC CEVP Tech and Data Director, your responsibilities will include assisting with: 
    • Tool and Tech Management
    • Administering key voter protection tools such as LBJ, VAN/Votebuilder, and Mobilize to ensure operational reliability. 
    • Assist in overseeing National Voter Assistance Hotline and Text Line technology to maintain high levels of operational consistency and uptime. 
    • Training and Capacity Building
    • Develop and conduct comprehensive training for key voter protection tools, including VAN, LBJ, Mobilize, and key Looker Studio reports
    • Conduct tailored 1:1 trainings with key stakeholders with varying levels of campaign technical expertise. 
    • Train National Voter Assistance Hotline Operators on Slack, Hotline Tech, and LBJ. 
    • Technical support and development
    • Provide prompt and efficient technical support for Voter Protection Directors
    • Maintain, and enhance the DNC’s National Voter Assistance Hotline and Text Line tech, including maintaining SMS, web, and social media chat flows, call flows, and more. 
    • Onboard hotline operators and provide front line technical support as needed by the volunteer hotline manager.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience;
    • Relevant experience for this position may include (but is not limited to): data or technology work for a campaign; voter protection related campaign work; product Management or Technical Program Management experience; or IT help desk related experience;
    • Extensive experience with technology on campaigns. Experience with VAN, LBJ, Hotline technology, SQL, Python, data visualization tools, and managing large data sets is a plus;
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to handle mission critical communication with senior management in high pressure situations;
    • Experience solving challenging technological problems with multiple constraints;
    • Experience managing the lifecycle of a complex cross-functional program; 
    • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle from conception to delivery;
    • A proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects;
    • A passion for voting rights and electing Democrats up and down the ballot.
The starting salary for the Voter Protection Tech and Data Manager position is $60,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.
