About the team

The Valuation team is focused on all things related to real-estate valuation. The home valuation problem is an unsolved, complicated, impactful spatio-temporal modeling challenge. We strive to empower consumers to make their best housing-related decisions by using pioneering ML techniques to present accurate and explained estimates of home valuations and related metrics. If we cannot find an existing model to fit our needs, we will invent one. The work we do is at the core of Zillow’s mission to empower the consumer and provide them with the tools to make informed decisions.

The Valuation team is behind the Zestimate and Zillow Prize, our million dollar competition to crowd-source ideas that push automated home valuation models further. We recently released our latest model -- Neural Zestimate -- based on our findings from Zillow Prize, and we have many exciting avenues to explore in this direction.
