Title: Credit Analyst/Specialist 

The ideal candidate for the Credit Analyst/Specialist position will have a drive for discovering trends in data, an ability to drive effective actionable insights from data, own key reporting duties, and be a confident self-starter. The candidate sought is a tech-forward master of details and data, with a passion for implementation of solutions. 

This role will work under the supervision of Director of Commercialization and Credit and be a key member of the Commercialization team. The Commercialization team manages pricing, gross margin, credit strategy, churn analysis and customer lifetime value analysis, and is responsible for ensuring profitability across the customer lifecycle, from acquisition (and admission risk) to renewal performance.  

Qualifications 

  • A University degree in a financial or technical field such as Economics, Statistics or Mathematics. 
  • Excellent financial, commercial, and analytical acumen, with ability to transform data insights into P&L results 
  • 3+ years of managing credit and bad debt risk in tech-forward consumer businesses or FinTech, or 2+ years of managing credit and bad debt risk within the Texas electricity market. 
  • Ability to communicate with equal fluency with business and technical counterparts across functions (including operations, collections, product, sales, technology, and customer care functions) 
  • Adaptability in a rapidly changing business and industry  
  • A go-getter who is passionate about data and details  
  • Candidates that display drive, initiative, and passion will be preferred 
  • Advanced coding skills (including Python, SQL, Databricks) is preferred, as is familiarity with common analysis/BI tools (Excel, Tableau, etc.…) 
  • Experience working remotely is preferred, but not required 

Job Responsibilities 

This role will own all reporting and analysis pertaining to credit and bad debt performance, analyzing data, and implementing actions and initiatives to drive performance improvements in credit quality, including minimizing bad debt risk and exposure. Responsibilities will include: 

  • Manage all credit and bad debt KPIs, including the development of new reports 
  • Discover insights/trends through root cause and data analysis in credit and bad debt performance, across multiple cohorts and segments, and derive actionable insights from complex data 
  • Present findings to the Director of Commercialization and Credit and other Rhythm executives, with the aim of driving purposeful and data-driven decisioning to mitigate credit risk and increase collection recovery rates 
  • Constantly monitor trends (daily, weekly, monthly) to ensure alignment with Rhythm’s credit practices, policies and procedures and desired P&L outcomes 
  • Propose changes to Rhythm’s credit policies based on data analysis 
  • Implement solutions to insights, working with key Rhythm functions  
  • Assist the Director of Commercialization and Credit and Head of Engineering on technology solutioning and technology partner relationship management pertaining to Credit and Bad Debt  
  • Able self-starter who thrives both in situations of ambiguity and certainty 
  • Act as a vital bridge between the credit and collections teams, ensuring coordination on key initiatives 
  • Assist with other ad hoc Commercialization analysis that may span pricing, profitability analysis, or other commercially value accretive activities
