The Why

Senior Data Scientist will build predictive models that provide key insights into customer and energy market behaviors, allowing Rhythm to present the best green energy products to their customer base, while providing outstanding customer service and value as an energy provider.

The What

  • Execute complex analytical projects to extract insights and create business value from consumer and market data, improving customer experience, new product creation, portfolio management, business expansion, and other parts of Rhythm’s business.
  • Translate business stakeholder needs into technical analyses and/or solutions with an emphasis on creating rapid impact
  • Creatively pursue new data sources and/or modeling techniques that can improve predictive power and insight of existing models
  • Work closely with software and data engineering teams to build out systems required for collecting, structuring, and modeling data, as well as ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Actively advocate for, and ensure that AI/ML and predictive models drive decision-making throughout the business
  • Own the design, development, thorough testing, and monitoring of your analytics models
  • Be an expert that teams across the business can rely on for data insights and analysis

The How

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, with a demonstrated ability to turn business problems into robust data science solutions
  • Outstanding analytical capacity, deep curiosity, creativity, willingness to learn, and a strong drive to impact business outcomes
  • Deep understanding of statistics and machine learning fundamentals, with a preferred focus on time series analysis, multivariate regression and segmentation problems; advanced degree in a quantitative field preferred but not required
  • Strong working knowledge of Python and relevant data science tools such as pandas, numpy, sklearn, tensorflow, etc.
  • Familiarity with a modern cloud-based ecosystem as used to manage data, train and deploy machine learning models (e.g. AWS, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, MLflow, etc.)
  • Strong communication and data presentation skills, including ability to explain data science model outputs to a broad group of customers and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI preferred
  • Experience in retail energy analytics, including wholesale pricing or product structuring is highly valued

Geography:

• Rhythm is headquartered in Houston, Texas. This position can be either located in our headquarters in Houston, TX or can be fully remote.
