The What:

  • Develop customer level and portfolio level models using new technologies
  • Contribute to the company’s analytics roadmap and be accountable for the delivery of the company’s analytics and insights capabilities at both the customer and portfolio levels
  • Accountable for formulating and delivering a range of advanced analytics solutions including but not limited to: Customer Lifetime Value, Smart Alerts, Segmentation, Product/Segment Profitability Analysis, and Churn Models
  • Develop model-ready enriched data sets working with the Data Engineering team and contribute to the development of 360-Single-Customer data views, Time-Series data views, and data marts
  • Collaborate with Marketing Analytics on the design, execution, and analysis of A/B and multivariate testing programs driving rigor and a test-and-learn culture collaborating with product, sales, commercial, and engineering teams
  • Provide thought leadership on data flow/data capabilities to technology team to ensure data capabilities are top-notch and analytics-ready
  • Partner with external vendors as needed and evaluate in-house development vs. outsourcing/partnerships
  • Contribute to high-quality work as an individual contributor in addition to management duties
  • Employ and evaluate new advanced analytics/data science technologies to improve the company’s analytics capabilities
  • Establish a robust and scalable foundation of analytics capabilities/systems, and data to support the fast-growing Rhythm business
  • Develop the company’s risk analytics models delivering capabilities to measure and communicate market risks, risk reductions, and risk appetite using a probabilistic approach
  • Contribute to the development of Supply systems related to ETRM and Position Management tools
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the company’s demand response programs collaborating with third-parties, product, and technology teams
  • Work closely with business owners and subject matter experts to develop new analytics and AI requirements

 

The How:

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics or quantitative roles
  • 3+ years of experience in Information Technology roles would be a definite asset
  • Some experience in retail / consumer-facing energy or wholesale energy industry is a definite asset
  • Master’s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, computer science, engineering, financial engineering, or economics
  • Strong commercial aptitude with the ability to employ technical methods while maintaining a commercial and pragmatic mindset
  • Experienced with machine learning and deep learning
  • Experienced in design and development of customer insights utilizing big data capabilities, as well as development of portfolio level financial/economical analytics
  • Solid experience in programming and writing robust and scalable code
  • Experienced in cashflow modelling, valuations, optimization methods, and risk management best practices
  • A proven track record of delivering quantitative solutions to generate value and impact key decisions
  • Ability to simplify huge data sets, complex problems and extracts insights with frameworks and formulate elegant solutions
  • Proficient in one or more of the following: Python, Matlab, VBA, Java, R
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Oracle, SQL, Cosmos DB, Mongo DB, TimeScale DB etc.
  • Experienced in Amazon Web Services
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures
  • Ability to build clear and concise presentations and communicate to every level of the organization
  • Strong passion for technology and new advancements in computer science and analytics space
  • Ability to manage analytics vendors
