GEICO FinOps is looking for Principal Engineers with expertise in data architecture, design, and development supporting data pipelines and/or data integrations using cutting edge technologies. This role will be responsible for design, development, implementation, and support of a consolidated data analytics platform that will be used to drive business and operation insights. The position requires hands-on experience developing and managing various data solutions.
Required skills:
- 5 years’ experience in building software applications in Azure
- 2+ years of advanced data warehousing experience
- Logical and physical database design and strong data modeling experience
- Experience with designing and building APIs
- Database schema creation and management
- Database optimization and troubleshooting
- Ability to develop, maintain and tune stored procedures and functions
- Knowledge of cloud-based storage and database concepts including SQL, COSMOS, Azure tables
- Solid experience and understanding in Synapse/Azure Bigdata platform, data ingestion, strong SQL, Cosmos Azure and/or AWS Cloud application development and services
- Strong data modeling, data analytics, PowerBI, visualization
- Domain-driven methodology, 3NF, Data Vault, Snowflake
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles
- Knowledge of design patterns and algorithms
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Must possess a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and motivation
- Driven to achieve successful results as part of a team
- Flexibility to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple projects in a dynamic environment
- Microsoft Azure certification or willing to obtain within 6 mo.
- Grade will be assigned commensurate with experience and skills of selected candidate

Annual Salary
$80,000.00 - $154,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
