We are looking for an Natural Language Processing (NLP) researcher who has experience and passion for innovation at the intersection of data, experimentation, and marketing.

Responsibilities:

You will help drive growth in GEICO’s various lines of business, and help evolve our marketing programs through message customization and optimization by means of NLP, machine learning, and dynamic testing. You will work with large-scale data across variety of channels and customer touch points, conduct in-depth quantitative analysis, build and validate Machine Learning models, and deliver impactful and useful products that will drive key marketing decisions.

  • Research and design solutions for various insurance NLP use cases 

  • Insurance specific corpus generation and language modeling 

  • Design and architect word/sentence/document embeddings of insurance content 

  • Perform context sensing and context-group discrimination on insurance content 

  • Build solutions for domain specific NER, functional component tagging 

  • Build solutions for domain specific text generation 

Qualifications: 

Technical Capabilities 

  • Linguistics knowledge 

  • Demonstrated experience with NLP including  

    • Corpus preparation 

    • Word embeddings 

    • Language modeling 

    • Use cases like NER, Q/A systems, text generation etc. 

  • Experience in supervised and unsupervised modeling, transfer learning 

  • Experience in deep learning 

    • MLP, CNN 

    • LSTM/GRU, attention, transformers 

    • Sequence-to-sequence learning 

    • Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch, SpaCy 

    • Pre-trained NLP solutions BERT, GPT3 and other variants 

  • Strong coding skills (Python/R) 

  • Experience with data science product life-cycle 

Professional Capabilities 

  • Strong sense of curiosity and ability to self-learn; willingness to research, design and test novel solutions and learn from failures 

  • Ability to research and offer solutions related to novel problems 

  • Ability to build, test, and iterate on medium to large scale projects of moderate complexity  

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills 

  • Strong oral and written communication, ability to create presentations with a logical flow to tell a compelling story 

  • Excellent attention to detail 

      

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of data science experience 

  • Experience with Dynamic Multivariate Search/optimization algorithms: e.g. Multiarmed bandit, reinforcement learning, evolutionary algorithms 

  • Strong statistics knowledge 

  • Experience with Bayesian learning (e.g. Bayesian regression, Bayesian Networks) 

  • Experience with design of experiments 

  • Experience with clustering and segmentation methods
