About the team
The Data Science Rotational Pathway (DSRP) is a post-undergraduate development program where you’ll build skills working across 4 rotations in 24 months. Each rotation will give you a unique perspective as you collaborate cross functionally with different teams in Data Science & Analytics.
As part of a small cohort, you will gain a community of peers and mentors to support your development. Recurring cohort events include instructor-led hard skill training, roundtables with business leaders, learning & development workshops, and program-specific virtual meetups. Rotational associates are also encouraged to participate in affinity networks, volunteer events, and other events in the larger Zillow community.

Through this role you will have frequent opportunities to share your analyses and recommendations with colleagues across the organization and see the results of your efforts affect millions of people. About the day to day
The life of a rotational associate is fast paced. To get your career in Data Science jump started, you’ll work cross functionally across teams in each of your 4 stops, often wearing many hats. Here are some of the day to day responsibilities you could take on:
Gather Customer Insights: Apply advanced analytics including clustering, propensity modeling, statistical knowledge, and other explanatory and causal inference techniques to gain a clearer picture of customer behavior.
Influence Leadership: Create compelling data stories and visualizations to influence decision makers.
Advise the Business: Build dashboards, models, and insights to fuel the future of each of Zillow's businesses Find opportunities for innovation and assess performance of current initiatives.
Develop Pricing: Research, development, and implement pricing strategies that deliver the best value possible for our clients
Build Decision Making Tools: Build data-focused information products from billions of data points we collect every single day - enabling internal and external partners to make informed, rational decisions.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
Comfortable with ambiguity and changing environments
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and detailed analysis into simple, structured frameworks with concrete action plans
Foundational analytics skills (SQL, Excel, and experience with Python and/or R)
Interested in large data sets and comfortable accessing data with Hive and Presto
Demonstrated ability to work well on teams of different sizes with a diverse set of technical and non-technical backgrounds.
