The Tech Team at Clearbanc is looking for an established leader to help build and scale our Data Science Team. As the Head of Data Science, you will have the opportunity to solve some of the hardest problems facing Clearbanc. You will be an integral part of helping to improve the success of founders and entrepreneurs all over the world. As the Head of Data Science, you will be responsible for the creation of new data sciences capabilities for Clearbanc by envisioning and executing strategies that will influence improvement of our performance by enabling informed decision making.

You will team up with the Product Management, Operations and Engineering teams to develop and productionize predictive or prescriptive models that test, understand and ultimately improve the Clearbanc Founder experience. You will play an influential role in helping drive critical product and policy decisions.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:

• Define the vision and strategy for the Data Science Team while setting ambitious goals
• Recruit, lead and develop the talented team of Clearbanc Data Scientists that are able to not only keep up with, but also pioneer within this space
• Lead in data-informed decision-making throughout Clearbanc
• Collaborate with and influence leadership to ensure Data Science directly impacts strategy
• Master the data, risk factors, and outcomes in high and low resolution, and at coarser aggregations or spans of time
• Develop and lead statistical and machine learning efforts in relation to your projects. Our projects use machine learning, experimentation, time series analysis, natural language processing, and more. We'll give you as many challenges as you seek and help you grow to tackle more
• Use large scale data processing such as Airflow, Spark, Hive, and other tools you help select
• Develop deep partnerships with engineering and product teams to deliver on major cross-functional measurements, testing, and modeling efforts
• Conduct original analyses to advise and influence product, engineering, and operations efforts
• Handle stakeholder expectations across product groups

You Will Thrive if You:

• Have 5+ years of quantitative/statistical/AI ML modeling experience
• Have 2+ years of experience leading a team
• Possess a graduate degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or any other related quantitative field
• Have experience designing a data science roadmap and executing the vision behind it
• Have proven experience in experimentation (a/b, causal inference, synthetic control etc.), sophisticated data analysis, and building machine learning models
• Can prove expertise and creativity in the application of machine learning and statistics
• Demonstrate expertise with Python (preferred) or R
• Are proficient in one or more of PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn, Pyspark, ML-lib
• Are proficient with SQL and Hive / Spark (experience with streaming data a plus)
• Have the ability to identify partners, establish relationships, and influence others to get work done
• Have familiarity with code and programming concepts
• Are able to communicate the results of analysis to an executive audience
• Experience with production systems is a plus
• Possess great interpersonal skills, are organized, able to multitask and be a great teammate
• Can balance attention to detail with swift execution
• Have Founder experience (considered an asset)
