About the role
We are looking for a senior leader who will lead the data product & engineering team to support the business by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
In this role, you’ll:
Lead a team of applied scientists and data engineers
Manage and prioritize data requests based on business value
Communicate (verbal + written) results and impact to broad audience
Develop a clear data architecture & Machine Learning product vision and strategy by collaborate with key partners such as Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Data Engineering, Software Development, Applied Science, UX Design
Recognize patterns and emerging trends and communicate impact and strategic recommendations
Ensure an inclusive work environment and develop your team’s professional growth
Mentor, develop, and coach team members
Work in an Agile and fast paced environment
Collaborate with larger Zillow AI and Applied Science teams
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $157,100.00 - $250,900.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
We are looking for a leader in the Data Analytics and Data Science space that has a love for solving problems through engineering and data science. You ideally should have:
2 years or more of experience as data product and machine learning leader in a team environment.
Skills to clearly articulate strategic, customer, competitive and/or prioritization trade-offs and how it relates to others in the company. Demonstrable bias toward action.
Knowledge of Machine Learning foundational, ML models & AI data platform
Proficient in Python and/or Java, SQL
Have strong data modeling skills and data architecture knowledge
Strong relational database and data integration experiences with third party tools like Salesforce and Iterable
Nice to Have:
Experience with data management tools and services such as, Apache Airflow, Kafka, , DBT, Snowflake,
Undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g. science, engineering, mathematics) or equivalent experience.
Experience with Real Estate or online marketing and transaction data analysis
Work in agile methodology and familiar with Jira tool
