We are hiring a Senior Manager of Conversion Applied Science to lead a strong team of data scientists model and deliver insights about how customers go from shopping to actually transacting on a home.

About the role

The Senior Manager of Conversion Applied Science will lead a team of applied scientists, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to build operational models that help aspiring home buyers and sellers to be able to transact. This leader will play a crucial role in enabling smarter products for home buyers and sellers as well as deriving insights to shape the direction of the business. We are looking for a strong technical leader, mentor, and problem-solver.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Recruit and mentor a team of high-performing scientists and engineers

  • Provide technical expertise to raise the bar on models that inform the most important business decisions

  • Set strategic priorities for your team and develop a research roadmap

  • Evangelize new models and methods to senior leadership and the broader data science community at Zillow

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $174,000.00 - $278,000.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • An empathetic and conscientious leader with experience providing technical guidance to scientists and analytical support to stakeholders.

  • A technical leader who can identify and apply state-of-the-art models across a variety of data science fields and engineer the solutions to perform at scale whether using exceptionally large datasets or in real-time on all site traffic.

  • Have consistently prioritized coaching and engaging members of your teams throughout your career.

  • You should have experience in a business involving complex user journeys

  • Are familiar with the tools of data science, including Python, SQL, various ETL, Airflow, and Spark.
