Job Description

Zendesk is seeking a Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics & Sales Operations to join the Marketing Analytics team! You’ll be joining a diverse crew of analysts who obsess over different facets of our customer journey, from website experience to initial purchase. We are data-driven marketers, so every major decision starts with data analysis to find opportunity areas and measure our efforts.

You will support our Marketing and Sales Development organizations as a driver of business insights, a beating drum that leads us through each quarter with clarity into what is and is not working. You will be diving into a wide scope of performance marketing and sales development data to help us make the right decisions and achieve our ambitious goals!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of analysts to derive sales development business insights and to help define frameworks to run the sales development organization.
  • Conceive and lead analytics initiatives to support marketing and sales development organizations.
  • Manage team of analysts to deliver practical insights around campaign return on investment, channel performance, SEO/SEM, account engagement and account funnel progression.
  • Define account funnel performance metrics and help guide the evolution of performance marketing measurement.
  • Lead XDR (Sales Development & Business Development) management reporting roadmap. Build and lead comprehensive and scalable reporting for the sales development management team.
  • Manage, prioritize and optimize processes for handling requests, conducting data due diligence, and discovering of new data sets to improve marketing performance frameworks
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams – marketing, finance, sales, operations and IT.
  • Sift through large data sets via query languages and BI tools for dashboards and reporting.
  • Continuously consider ways to improve the way we discover, process, and surface data to our partners.
  • Be thorough about monitoring metric performance and don’t hesitate to point out new trends or flag potential issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in business, statistics, economics, or related degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • 4+ years of experience in strategy consulting, data analytics, business intelligence, or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience performing sales and business development analytics. Setting key performance, building custom performance frameworks and building comprehensive reporting
  • Experience with B2B marketing funnel reporting
  • Significant experience tracking and evaluating digital marketing channels (paid media, paid social, SEO, etc) performance
  • Familiarity with Multi-Touch attribution models and campaign return on investment frameworks
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Explore, Tableau) and advanced Excel or Google Sheet functions
  • Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and sub queries
