THE ROLE:

Analytics is critical for Athletic Greens. It guides our decision making and provides insights into what is working and what is not. The Senior Vice President, Data Analytics & BI role at AG is responsible for the complete oversight of our internal and external data stack as well as our external Analytics team.

The right fit for this role will be solutions oriented, has experience scaling data teams from scratch, proactively identifies opportunities for optimization, and is committed to data discipline and hygiene. As this position supports our executives and our leadership team, you must be a ‘hands on’ thought leader: capable of both high level strategic thinking with a hands-on ability to execute.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead and provide the vision for shaping the analytics and data functions at Athletic Greens.
  • Proactively deliver accurate metrics to key stakeholders and provide ad-hoc reporting and metrics as required.
  • Define data strategy to become a true data driven company.
  • Define, prioritize and manage data and analytics roadmap.
  • Work with the full Product dept. to streamline our systems architecture, data stack, and internal framework to support a central Analytics function.
  • Develop the framework for analytics across the company - standardization of data collection, data automation, data management, and data use.
  • Evangelize the use of data-informed decision making through the organization and create data-driven standards for leveraging data science and analytics to offer both internal and external actionable insights.
  • Drive technology investments that utilize analytics as a strategic tool, including business intelligence tools, ETL infrastructure, and unifying customer data across currently used tools and services.
  • Lead the efforts to research and select segmentation, data warehouse and business intelligence tools to enable real time dashboard and reporting with minimal manual maintenance.
  • Define the most important growth metrics that track the business's performance across different functions and utilize those to effect change.
  • Partner with leadership members within the organization to identify and execute on analytical needs/gaps and create self-service dashboards and visualization tools.
  • Build a high performing team of data scientists and analysts with your experience.
  • Ensure our external data team is held accountable for delivering work accurately and efficiently.
  • Own all NetSuite + Google Analytics Reporting.
  • Champion efforts to collect data required if it is not currently available.
  • Setup and monitor user behavior, conversion statistics, funnel metrics etc.
  • Regularly review that all tags and pixels are tracking as intended and work directly with the Technology team to resolve any issues as they arise.
  • Ensure daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Build alerts or warnings for each department so they can easily identify numbers that are performing outside of the usual tolerances.
  • Setup and maintain Airflow data modeling that replicates our external partners work.
  • Proactively build reporting and BI dashboards that provide both historical and forecast metrics for each key function in the business, including: Marketing, Finance, Partnerships, Finance and Operations.
  • Continuously monitor data and dashboards to spot trends and alert key stakeholders if they arise.
  • Continuously monitor tagging and tracking to ensure consistency and accurate tracking.
  • Advise on how we should tag data to ensure accurate and detailed tracking and reporting.
  • Dashboard & Analysis Examples:
    • Analyze paid marketing channel performance, incorporating innovative methodologies to inform optimization strategies across acquisition and retention.
    • Contribution Margin by Channel and Source analysis.
    • Track web analytics / user behaviors: funnel metrics, path to purchase, and audience segment dynamics.
    • Deep and detailed contribution margin by channel and source analysis.
    • Cost of Goods Sold reporting month on month.
    • Revenue reporting by geography, channel and source.
    • Churn analysis.
    • Conversion and cart abandonment rates.
    • Customer Product Lifecycle change (adding new items, changing products etc.).
    • Customer subscription habits (skipping, changing frequency, etc.).


WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • An individual with 8+ years of relevant industry experience in a fast-paced, scaling E-commerce business.
  • Demonstrated skill, comfort, and success leading teams to deliver on analytics and BI projects.

  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and ability to link strategies to business priorities and initiative.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a dynamic high-growth environment with aggressive timelines.
  • Expertise in reporting and database management platforms, including Tableau, PowerBI, Bigquery etc.
  • Expertise in common data structures, languages, and tools.
  • An insights-driven Analytics leader to support our key initiatives and help chart the course for the continual evolution of the organization.
  • Someone who loves giving and receiving feedback.
  • You’re decisive & proactive; you understand that we need to move quickly and that starts by making decisions, owning them and iterating when required.
