What we're looking for

You are motivated by delivering metrics, findings, or dashboards that drive analytical insights and business decisions. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business teams for future innovation. You need to be a sophisticated user of data querying tools, and an expert at synthesizing and communicating insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.

What you’ll do 

• Translate business questions and concerns into specific quantitative questions that can be answered with available data using sound methodologies. In cases where questions cannot be answered with available data, work with engineers to produce the required data
• Retrieve, synthesize, and present critical data in a format that is immediately useful to answering specific questions or delivering actionable insight
• Leverage cutting edge technologies and methodologies such as Looker and Data Build Tool to transform data and develop reports.
• Follow given requirements with a high level of attention to detail and drive for quality to ensure the customer gets exactly what they asked for
• Suggest improvements to requirements, better ways of solving problems, and otherwise leverage your experience and expertise to drive the best possible solutions
• Fulfill data requests as needed, mining the raw data sources to answer specific questions as they arise in the business
• Mentor less experienced analysts and help guide their work
• Take the lead position on the most challenging and complex projects for the team, frequently working with more junior analysts as assistants, driving big changes for the company
• Add features to, fix bugs in, and maintain existing products
• Learn and uphold industry best practices and team standards
• Assist and lead other team members frequently
• Other duties, as assigned

Skills you’ll need

• Master level ability to write, understand, and optimize complex SQL
• Basic report building in a reporting application such as Looker, Tableau, Qlik, or Spotfire
• Capable of bringing complex projects into production without much assistance
• Excellent understanding of Excel
• Strong team collaboration skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Excellent time management skills
• G-Suite experience
• Attention to detail
