Data Analyst, Mid
Key Role:
Identify and collect data sources, analyze and extract key data and information, and evaluate and monitor data quality to meet the organization's information system needs and requirements. Apply specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions for a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide the activities of junior employees.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with data analysis
2+ years of experience with reading and comprehending conceptual, logical, and physical data models
2+ years of experience with SQL, relational, and dimensional databases
Experience with working in Agile environments
Experience with data querying, data mapping, and transformation analysis
Knowledge of business requirements
Ability to document source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and general documentation
Ability to be a strategic thinker who understands data implications across the enterprise ecosystem
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with AWS, including products related to analytics, computing, databases, developer tools, and machine learning
Experience in working with data science and BI teams
Experience with developing solutions involving unstructured data
Experience with business intelligence and dashboarding tools
Experience in developing software code with object-oriented programing languages, including Java, C++, or C#, or Java and scripting languages, including Python, R, Bash, Batch, and PowerShell
Experience with implementing a variety of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques, including clustering, decision tree learning, and artificial neural networks
Knowledge of the real-world advantages and drawbacks of supervised and unsupervised machine learning
Knowledge of data standardization policies and standards sufficient to develop data management tools, including data dictionaries, data models, and metadata repositories
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills in documentation and focused on accuracy, consistency, and standardized terminology

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
