Data Architect, Lead

In this role, you’ll grow your technical expertise, apply best practices, and use tools, including Microsoft SQL, SSIS, such as SQL Server Integration Services, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle, to design databases, build data models, conduct ETL processes, design and manage data warehouse applications, and optimize cloud computing resources. You’ll resolve routine data architecture-related issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams by jointly developing user stories along with our business partners and development of data warehousing. You’ll perform as part of a high performing, self-organizing team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud solution components. You'll problem solve alongside both clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered.
How You'll Contribute:
Design and implement robust data architectures that support the ingestion, storage, and management of large datasets.
Develop guidance for data architecture across various cloud service providers, such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, specifically addressing the ingest, store, analyze and visualize data pipeline.
Develop and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines to facilitate both real-time and batch data processing.
Lead the creation and maintenance of API endpoints for data analysis and machine learning models.
Drive the adoption of best practices in data security, ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
Oversee the selection and management of appropriate cloud services, such as AWS and Azure, for various data workloads.
Spearhead the certification and accreditation processes for all data solutions within regulatory frameworks.
Maintain a deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and trends in data architecture, machine learning, and data analytics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data analytics and machine learning capabilities into broader systems and processes.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.
Manage projects, set timelines, and ensure on-time delivery and quality of work.

You Have:
10+ years of experience in a data architecture role with cloud-based data architecture
7+ years of experience with software or system design inclusive of AWS and Microsoft Azure Data
Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions
Experience with cloud services, including AWS and Azure
Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture patterns and standards
Knowledge of data services, such as AWS Glue and Azure Data Factory
Knowledge of API development and management for data operations
Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and how to incorporate ML models into scalable data pipelines
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Data Science
Nice If You Have:
Experience with standards for open systems architectures, the OSI and ISO reference models, and profiles of standards
Experience with Federal Government regulations, compliance, and system authorization
Experience with working in Agile development scenarios
Experience with FedRAMP or TIC 2.2/3.0
Knowledge of Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models
Ability to understand and translate business and end-user requirements and explain complex technical solutions
Ability to engage senior business and technical decision-makers
Ability to problem solve in real time alongside high functioning technical teams and business partners, rapidly propose solutions, and build prototypes and solutions as part of a fast-moving Scrum team
Master’s degree in a technical field
Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,400.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
