Data Engineer
Key Role:
Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, and skilled technical assistance in the development, assessment, configuration, and management of data-centric information technology (IT) assets in an Agile team-oriented work environment. Provide database development, management, and administrative support for SQL and NoSQL database systems across multiple environments, including production, development, and testing environments. Troubleshoot, test, debug, and refine database platforms. Provide reports development, systems updates, and recommend enhancements. Apply data management, data architecture, and data analysis experience and knowledge to a broad scope of activities to mature and grow enterprise data management practices. Establish and enforce standardized data architecture and processes to ensure a consistent, well-managed, and well-integrated application and data infrastructure. Develop approaches and processes and analyze procedures for identifying and validating enterprise Authoritative Data Sources.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a data engineering role working with enterprise-level database management systems
3+ years of experience with relational database design, development, or maintenance of structured query language, stored procedures, and scripts
Experience with data security, data integrity, and data availability
Ability to identify data processing business rules from existing programs, scripts, and applications
Ability to communicate and coordinate with architects, engineers, and analysts to ensure efficient operations
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with DoD Logistics Systems
Experience with leading teams of data management architects, engineers, and analysts
Experience with the design, development, or maintenance of data pipelines, including data ingestion, data transformation, or data curation
Experience with data quality and metadata management
Experience with Agile teams
Ability to interpret existing data pipeline implementations and translate them into usable requirements for data engineers

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
