The Data Scientist Intern will be part of the Data Science team and will help create innovative data-driven tools that are used to improve business decisions across the company.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility of the Data Scientist intern will be to develop new machine learning algorithms and models to optimize business decisions. The intern will:
- Create and optimize machine learning models to predict customer response and conversion.
- Sift through thousands of attributes to determine which are most valuable.
- Create and test new techniques, and algorithms that will improve capabilities across the Data Science team.
- Explore difficult new problems, addressing feedback loops and performance drift.
Requirements
- Experience in Python and SQL
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms as well as data science frameworks such as scikit-learn
- Working knowledge of statistics and data analysis
- Preferred Education: Graduate Level student pursuing a Master's Degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or related field with target graduation in 2023 or later

- Comfortable interacting and engaging with colleagues from all levels of management across all business units and external auditors.
- Demonstrated technical leadership skills including self-direction, coaching and mentoring, getting buy-ins on the models from all relevant constituents.
- High self-efficacy, highly motivated, well organized, capable of developing and executing a sprint plan, and able to communicate status effectively
- Effectively collaborate remotely.

- Ability to succeed within a cross-functional team emphasizing Collective Ownership in a fast-paced environment
- Be confident and willing to challenge status quo but also willing to concede and execute other’s ideas when necessary
- Capable of teaching and learning from others to promote continuity of knowledge and personal development

- Excellent English written and verbal communication skill
