Vroom's Data Team is looking for a Data Scientist who will focus on making continuous improvements to the website. This candidate will be responsible for customization of the customer experience. E-commerce industry, modeling and forecasting experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Own end -to-end ML/analytics pipelines and work with stakeholders to develop deep domain expertise on associated business processes.

  • Build, validate, and maintain predictive models to increase and optimize conversion, customer experience, and other business outcomes.

  • Identify standard and novel data solutions to assess consumer-related demand levels and other market indicators.

  • Acquire, organize and leverage insights derived from large datasets.

  • Collaborate with different functional teams to rapidly deploy newly developed models, maintain existing ones, and run ad-hoc analyses as needed.

  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.

  • Present proposed solutions and results to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantitative Sciences (Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, Physics, among others) required. Masters Degree preferred.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role. 

  • Proficient with Python or R, and solid working knowledge of SQL.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience with ecommerce predictive analytics / modeling to include optimizing website conversion and behavior preferred.

  • Conceptual knowledge and background in probability, statistics, and machine learning including their technical implementation. 

  • Experience designing, prototyping, and deploying production-ready machine learning solutions. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
