Job Summary:
Vroom.com is seeking an exceptional Team Lead for our BI Engineering team. You will lead a newly formed team (currently two BI engineers) to incorporate data into every step of analytics and product development — from data collection of a new feature to AB test analysis – and drive the transforming, maintaining, and exposing of datasets for our end-users to build the insights that drive our business. Your team will specialize in the domain of web analytics and credit applications, two topics with high visibility within Vroom.

What You'll Do:
Foster an inspiring team environment with an open communication and collaborative culture
Develop a vision for the analysis of website and credit application data, communicate it, and implement it by motivating the team, setting team goals which increase the value provided by the BI Engineering department
Evolve our analytics tech stack to provide Product Managers' and downstream business analysts' self-serve reporting
Partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders to slice large data projects into individual tasks and have your team execute on these according to their priority
Provide feedback and establish goals for your team to help them progress in their career and professional development
Guide the team in implementing new technical solutions and analyses leveraging your prior analysis and visualization experience
Support the team with challenges and help remove any obstacles they encounter in their work
Encourage creativity and risk-taking
Publicize the team’s achievements through organizing newsletters, demos and knowledge shares
Promote data quality by supporting the team in identifying data needs for Product launches and existing data pipelines
Collaborate with the BI & Analytics Engineering teams to develop a robust data platform
What you have:
Hands-on experience building and maintaining a data ecosystem
Demonstrated leadership experience (does not need to be extensive)
A desire to find the root cause of a problem, but also to deliver results on time
Ability to be the expert in the details and to convey findings in a concise manner
Demonstrated experience in analytical role(s), delivering analyses that influenced others
Experience working in a distributed team and with remote team members
Self-starter who is comfortable thinking strategically and independently
Proficient SQL knowledge with comfort writing and editing complex queries and optimizing for readability and speed
Experience with web analytics and AB testing
A curiosity about all things data and a continuous learning mindset
