As a Machine Learning Engineer on the Data Science Team, you are a thoughtful, collaborative, and resourceful technologist who is passionate about designing both usable workflows for training, deploying, and scaling ML models, and tools that enable Vroom data scientists to build high quality and reliable software. You will be responsible for developing systems that increase the speed and reliability of delivery for our data science products. Also, you will collaborate on building the roadmap of Machine Learning Operations at Vroom by identifying new opportunities for deploying and serving data science products to the business.
Responsibilities:
Build and evolve systems for deploying, serving, scaling, data science products.
Iterate on Vroom’s ML processes to produce tools that make every stage of the modeling workflow - from annotating data to deploying and monitoring models - robust, auditable, and usable.
Build workflows for automatic training, QA, and promotion of models.
Develop infrastructure to scale our models to production-level traffic.
Implement best practices on top of automated frameworks for unit testing, integration testing, smoke testing, and other testing approaches.
Identify opportunities and expose technologies that increase the speed of delivery for data science products.
Collaborate with data scientists to identify technical pain points in model lifecycle management, and address their needs with clear and robust engineering solutions.
Partner with analysts, engineers, and product leaders in order to serve data science products to the business.
Lead technical demonstrations.
Required Skills:
At least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
Familiarity with the process of building and deploying an ML model to production.
Desire to build internally to improve developer efficiency and experience.
Experience with application testing & deployment infrastructure, including front-end deployments.
Experience with continuous integration frameworks.
Experience building and/or deploying cloud-native microservices.
Experience with Relational Databases and Non-Relational Databases.
Experience with Event-Driven Architecture.
Experience with Automation.
Eagerness to learn new technologies and collaborate in a cross-functional organization.
Proficiency in Python.
Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Sh).
Nice-To-Have: Experience with Golang.
Nice-To-Have: Experience with Scaling ML Systems.
