Base Pay Range:

$96,119.00 - $144,178.00

Job Summary:

The Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst will work under the Managers, Directors, VPs and overall Senior Leadership on Vroom’s transformational strategies. You will do this through collaboration and being able to grasp complex problems through data driven analysis - at times given little instruction in resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways. Your team will synthesize complex problems through analytical solutions that will impact the goals of Vroom. Seasoned experience needed with the ability to demonstrate solid judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Continuous improvement of data quality, data gathering, and business insights
  • Develop and/or leverage tools and techniques that drive insights to actions most effectively from the data analytics efforts
  • Provide analytics support in uncovering Vroom’s largest challenges, creating scalable solutions against those challenges - including how Vroom buys cars, manages its inventory, markets its inventory, and completes the sale and delivery of cars to customers
  • Responsible with resolving a wide range of complex issues through making solid judgment in selecting data driven analytical methods and at times creative techniques
  • Will adhere to the data-driven thinking of your team as well as work collaboratively in improving initiatives across such areas as:
  • Demand, inventory management, pricing, marketing, customer and website analytics
  • Provide reporting, slide decks, and descriptive analytics for senior leadership
  • Creating models, primarily in Excel, that forecast the most likely outcomes and predict the financial impacts of various strategic business alternatives in the areas of demand, inventory management, pricing, and assortment management
  • Ensure that all your reporting and analytical responsibilities are completed competently in a timely manner, continually seeking out opportunities to learn new and hone existing technical skills (e.g. writing SQL/code, statistics, machine learning, etc.) and operate in collaboration with and/or mentorship of more experienced senior leadership and data analysts

Required Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in roles that cover analytic techniques, financial modeling and forecasting, statistical modeling, and demand/revenue analytics
  • Technical
    • Demonstrated experience in Excel
    • Proficient SQL knowledge and Python experience preferred
    • Forecasting / modeling skill set
  • Functional
    • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work on problems of a diverse scope through data driven analysis under the Advanced Analytics umbrella
    • Ability to create order out of chaos, distill learnings, and communicate detailed data driven findings elegantly to team members and leadership
    • Unquenchable intellectual curiosity, finds the underlying story being told within the data
    • Strong collaborator working with individual contributors as well as senior leaders
    • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision and drive objectives and priorities to meet company goals
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a leadership presence
    • Strong bias for action/results; ability to balance speed/agility with process orientation
    • Natural aptitude for solving complex cross-functional problems
    • Driven to exceed expectations
