GEOINT Data Engineer

Key Role:

Enable analysis of GEOINT collection performance data to support end-to-end (E2E) GEOINT architecture assessments. Develop recommendations to improve the effectiveness of GEOINT collection strategies. Define new performance metrics and calculation approaches to address evolving collection strategies. Determine GEOINT collection impacts by analyzing developments to the current remote sensing constellation. Develop performance analysis reports, conduct trend studies, and analyze collection performance of all geospatial data providers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with a geospatial information system (GIS) application to perform and visualize geospatial analysis

  • Experience in analyzing GEOINT collection strategies and E2E GEOINT Enterprise performance to propose recommendations for optimizing collection based on data from established and emerging GEOINT data repositories

  • Experience with Python, R, or SQL

  • Knowledge of querying for GEOINT performance data and how to develop custom data queries and visualizations to meet and anticipate customer requirements

  • Knowledge of scripting to conduct data analysis tasks and advanced analytics

  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods to develop new metrics and advanced analytical techniques to measure E2E multi-GEOINT source satisfaction and performance

  • Knowledge of GEOINT collection management tools available for collection managers to characterize the current remote sensing constellation in the context of sensor orbits, tasking, and sensor specific traits

  • Knowledge of traditional end-to-end (E2E) GEOINT sources, airborne and commercial sources, the GEOINT TCPED process, and requirement and strategy life cycle

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in analysis, Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in analysis, Master's degree and 4+ years of experience in analysis, or Doctorate degree and 2+ years of experience in analysis

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Map of the World, ArcGIS, Google Earth, or similar application preferred

  • Experience as a GEOINT analyst performing imagery or geospatial analysis or as a GEOINT source strategies analyst

  • Experience in leading a team of skilled data scientists in conducting trend studies and analyzing GEOINT collection performance of multi-source geospatial data

  • Experience with Hadoop, HUE, Hive, Pig, Spark, Elasticsearch, or Kibana

  • Experience with GIMS, Web FishTools, or yODA/MTD

  • Ability to create, edit, and evaluate technical accuracy of presentation materials, visual aids, and graphics

  • Geospatial-Intelligence Proficiency Level-I (GPC-I) Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
