Health Services Statistician
Key Role:
Serve as a technical lead on analytic tasks in the federal health space. Conduct analytic work as an individual contributor, organize analytic work for small- to medium-sized tasks, help teams solve complex coding or analytic issues, and mentor junior analysts. Translate technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences. Identify opportunities to leverage analytic solutions to help clients solve new and existing problems. Collaborate with diverse team members, including quantitative and qualitative analysts, policy experts, communications specialists, and project managers.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience performing data management and data analysis with large health care data sets in SAS, SQL, Python, or R
Experience analyzing health insurance claims data, including Medicare
Experience with the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) data environment or Integrated Data Repository (IDR), or the Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC)
Knowledge of CMS data, including Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS), National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), Master Beneficiary Summary File (MBSF), Standard Analytic Files (SAF), or Prescription Drug Event (PDE) data
Ability to perform data management tasks on very large datasets, including complex joins and the use of macros to execute repetitive tasks
Ability to perform quality assurance testing, including parallel coding, code review, and graphing of results to check for anomalies
Ability to calculate descriptive statistics and perform statistical analyses, including regression analysis
Ability to clearly explain complex methodologies and present technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Bachelor’s degree in a Quantitative field, including Epidemiology, Economics, or Statistics
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with the federal procurement and proposal process
Experience with Databricks
Experience with value-based payment adjustment methodologies or risk adjustment
Experience managing tasks for others
Ability to create data visualizations using standard tools, including Power BI, AWS QuickSight, or Tableau

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
