Join our growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence team as a Managing Data Governance Engineer.
You will be a lead engineer working under our Analytical Data Director and Chief Analytics Officer. This is an important role to own parts of our data infrastructure as we launch new financial technology products.
We are looking for a solutions oriented team player with a very reliable core SQL data skillset and fundamental programming with python 3. The ideal engineer is able to work on complex data profiling and data analysis.
Responsibilites:
- Establish and roll out data governance standards, frameworks, documentation.
- Define Data Quality standards, Data Quality metrics, Data Lineage in Enterprise Catalog and data observability tools.
- Prepare and Implement standards and guidelines for data ownership, integrity and accessibility
- Propose & collaborate, develop mechanisms to monitor, measure, report, alert on the Data Quality Metrics using existing tech stack & tools.
- Define & document Data Policies regarding data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Define & document Data Security, Privacy rules & policies
- Collaborate with Data Team & Info Security for enforcing Data Security, Access & Lifecycle policies
- Define, document & establish User Communication protocols & mechanisms.
- User Support on Metrics Definition, Data questions, concerns, issues & remediation with data team.
- Manage Reference data, Master data.
- Prepare, publish, and present data governance materials to increase awareness and literacy on data governance projects, leading practices, technology and partnerships
- Be part of a team that owns all aspects of data management – from raw data inputs from vendors, internal systems, to ETL, BI & ODS data systems.
Requirements:
- Strong functional knowledge and familiarity with Data Governance Frameworks
- Knowledge of the analytics needs of multiple functional areas of a technology and business (e.g., engineering, data product, data science, marketing, finance, CRM, Operations)
- Experience with Atlan , MonteCarlo or similar tools.
- Experience in driving Data Governance program at Enterprise level.
- Strong Expertise with relational databases and SQL
- Experience in working with Semi-Structured data
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with Git, Cloud computing – AWS, Unix environments
- Experience in working on multi-faceted work items around data – Data profiling, Adhoc loads, Structured & Semi-structured data analysis, Production implementation & validation, Data issue analysis, User Support
- Excellent documentation and general organization of ongoing tasks, including the ability to evaluate and question business rules.
- You practice empathy and kindness, and you look to help others – within & outside the team.
- Experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse
- Familiarity with GitHub, Jira
- Strong leadership skills in hiring, establishment and subsequent development of your team's goals, talent, output, and growth
“Nice to have”:
In addition to semi-monthly salary payments, this position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance. Base salary range $100,000 - $160,000, annual bonus target 25% of base. This position may also be eligible for long-term cash and/or equity incentives.
