As a  Pricing Analyst Mid to Senior in Commercial Lines, you’ll have the opportunity to work with the #1 writer of commercial auto insurance in the United States as we expand into new lines of business. Using your strong quantitative and data manipulation skills, you will analyze large data sets, execute actuarial models, recommend appropriate price levels to state management, and interact with insurance regulators. Your input will help maintain Progressive’s winning position in the commercial auto marketplace while providing opportunities for you to continue to develop analytical, technical, and other professional skills.

Must-have qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of 1 year analytical work experience.
  • In lieu of a quantitative degree, a Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of 3 years of analytical work experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years of analytical work experience.

Preferred skills

  • Prior Pricing or Reserving analytical experience preferred
  • Demonstrates basic to intermediate R programming skills including the ability to create basic programs.
  • Proven ability to conduct formal statistical analyses (for example, weighted regression) using R or SAS as needed - including interpreting diagnostic information;
  • Demonstrated intermediate skills in Excel. Knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including vlookup, pivot tables, charts and graphing.
  • Excellent communication skills required - including visualization of quantitative information for non-technical audiences.

Compensation 

  • $54,800 - $88,400/year depending on position level and experience
  • Gainshare bonus up to 24 - 30% (depending on position level) of your eligible earnings based on company performance
