As a Data Scientist on the GoPuff Supply Chain team, you’ll optimize critical business operations in supply chain related to forecasting, inventory management, and labor planning. You’ll have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the future success of GoPuff.

Responsibilities
- Build and enhance ML-based forecasting models that drive key planning decisions related to our business operations including labor and inventory management
- Develop automated decision-making tools that optimize Gopuff supply chain outcomes
- Work closely with product and engineering managers to initiate, develop, and deploy solutions with cross-functional support
- Guide our business and engineering partners across the organization on data science concepts (e.g., statistics, machine learning)
- Build models that support real-time events and internal stakeholder decisions across the business - from marketing and merchandising to operations and supply chain
- Present work to business and engineering leadership
Identify gaps in existing data, create data product specs, and work with Engineering teams to implement enhanced data tracking
Partner with Analytics team members and other functions to share insights and best practices, ensuring consistency of data-driven decision-making throughout the org
- Continuously strive for automation and productionalized solutions
- Serve as the tech lead on the Supply Chain DS team
- Provide mentorship to less experienced data scientists
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in statistics, mathematics, analytics, computer science, or another quantitative field AND 3+ years of experience as a data scientist in eCommerce or Logistics
- Or, 8+ years of experience as a data scientist in eCommerce or Logistics
- Hands-on experience applying descriptive statistics, machine learning, predictive modeling, and optimization techniques to solve challenging business problems
- Expert knowledge in:
* Statistical and machine learning techniques
* Data Science libraries in a programming or scripting language
* Model Deployment
* Machine learning workflows
* Optimization
- Proficient in:
* Python
* Source control management tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (to both technical and business audiences)
- Effective, resilient, resourceful, and kind
