The Forecasting and Planning function is responsible for balancing supply plans with demand forecasts in order to make Gopuff’s merchandising strategy a reality & Gopuff customers have the items they need when they need them. As a Senior Manager, you will oversee a team responsible for partnering with our forecasting function to build the medium to long term purchasing guidance, tooling, and processes that will inform our buying and logistics teams of the appropriate strategic decisions at scale.

You Will:

  • Adapt order and item level forecasts into routine processes and tools which inform the actions of the buyers and logistics teams and ensure warehouses are appropriately stocked across Gopuff’s US business
  • Oversee and direct a team of Supply Chain analysts to address larger in-depth workflows across multiple geographies
  • Provide guidance and troubleshoot replenishment and over purchase opportunities and adjust strategy accordingly based upon what drives the most value for our customers.
  • Partner with Merchandising to operationalize all aspects of the product lifecycle: A) balance the launch of new verticals and seasonal products based upon expected demand, B) ensure products in our active catalog are consistently in stock, and C) facilitate the phasing out of old products. 
  • Create and prioritize a strategic roadmap for projects aimed at increasing in-stock rates, decreasing damage and expired product, and decreasing costs. 
  • Directly impact the P&L for purchasing and create accountability and awareness mechanisms for local operators and vendors to increase item availability while minimizing costs
  • Provide capacity and warehouse teams with weekly inbound shipment plans to build dedicated labor plans for incoming freight 

You Have:

  • 8+ years in supply chain, operations management, and/or analytics
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging a range of data tools to make business decisions across a national, multi-unit consumer business.
  • Seasoned people manager with +5 years of experience managing  supply chain, operations management, and/or analytics teams.
  • A service oriented approach–the decisions we make impact a lot of teams and customers and a knack for continuous process improvement in our fast growing space is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Finance, Operations, Logistics or related field.
  • Expert fluency in SQL, Looker, or other BI Platforms with the ability to teach the skill to others
  • Experience in scaling the operations previously at an ecommerce startup
