The Business Analytics Advisor role will focus on driving Affordability improvement within targeted high-cost specialty areas. This role is an opportunity to work collaboratively across the enterprise with clinical leaders, business stakeholders, and other analysts. The Business Analytics Advisor is responsible for the analysis, development and maintenance of reports, dashboards and other BI solutions (including ad hoc analyses) that support and fulfill business needs across the enterprise.

Reporting to the Director of Health Condition Analytics, this position will help to assist in complex data research and analytics to support affordability improvement, enterprise Oncology and Medical Specialty Pharmacy strategy. The candidate filling this position will require a strategic, collaborative mindset that will help support the existing landscape and must also possess tech savvy, data management and reporting skills. The analyst will apply fundamental clinical knowledge combined with understanding the unit cost variation, utilization levels, and mix of services to identify new initiatives to lower the overall cost of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain large-scale data extraction, transformation, analysis, and data visualizations

  • Build suites of tools, designed to assist with a variety of management functions including dashboards, data visualizations, reports, data-extracts, and in-depth analyses

  • Support the development of robust business cases for initiatives identifying the key enablers of success, affordability opportunity, necessary investment and timeline for goal achievement.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams focused on targeted Oncology or Special Pharmacy. Participate in meetings to elevate analytic findings across enterprise oncology stakeholders

  • Perform complex data research and analysis to support business operations including: creating data mining architectures/models/protocols, and data analysis methodologies

  • Exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering on analytic projects

  • Exhibit full understanding of data and leverage data in an appropriate way (correct sources, clear assumptions, approved by business)

  • Understanding of existing data structures in enterprise environment and segment environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in preferred fields of Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science or equivalent and a minimum 5 years’ experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches

  • Proven experience in health insurance payer analytics using healthcare data (claims, provider, membership enrollment) for medical, pharmacy, and behavioral care

  • Required experience in business intelligence tools: Tableau, Thoughtspot, Excel based reporting

  • Required experience in Advanced SQL and SAS (also preferred: Alation, SQL Server, Python and/or R)

  • Expert-level analytics experience providing creative insights based on documented, efficient, and repeatable analytic processes

  • Preferred understanding of basic biology and clinical drivers of health care utilization: anatomy, physiology, preventive care, condition treatment, medical terminology, etc

  • Previous work experience applying a combination of analytical, technical and business acumen

  • Demonstrated experience in challenging problems and driving outstanding results

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills to work with various enterprise partners, including but not limited to actuarial, medical economics, business, marketing, and IT/IM


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 94,300 - 157,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
