Role Summary: This position is a SAS programmer role responsible for writing queries to extract data from CPF, HCPM, and other sources, including mapping to previously built crosswalks and other supporting files. The candidate will have the ability to write complex, efficient SAS code to extract large data sets in a short amount of time and derive data that w e do not house in our system based on logic provided from the business analyst.

Responsibilities:

Produce standardized, accurate, and efficient SAS/SQL programs to extract and derive data per detailed requirements in order to deliver state filing results, debug and make the queries reusable by you and your teammates.

Collaborate with Business Analyst teammates (who will do the requirement gathering for you) and other Provider Data query writers within the Network Quality Department (who can help

when you are stuck) to deliver state filing results and serve as a peer review er and implementing improvements to queries.

Continually strive to enhance and improve existing queries and their own skills by demonstrating initiative to participate in ongoing coaching and training programs including asking for help and share new things learned on team calls.

Utilize independent judgment and discretion, identify data quality issues, and provides recommendations for adjustment.

Able to prioritize and multi-task work.

Facilitate team conference calls as required by management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred or equivalent work experience required.

Knowledge of how relational databases work is required.

3+ years of proven experience using tools to extract data efficiently from Oracle, DB2, and/or Hadoop to make the program run as quickly as possible.

3+ years of SQL required.

Experience with Hadoop, Hive and/or Cognos preferred.

SAS data extraction knowledge or ability to translate SQL/Hive required.

Solid experience using Excel (VLOOKUP, formulas and pivot tables) required.

Knowledge of provider demographic tables within CPF and or knowledge within HCPM

Strong problem-solving skills. (Able to critically think through problems to get to the solution.)

Detail oriented (Quality assurance on the reports you are producing are accurate.)

Keen focus on delivery with proven time management skills (Rapid turnaround, the ability to engage in multiple tasks and meet deadlines/standards.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with provider data.

Excellent collaboration skills

Has understanding of the pitfalls of the source systems.

Knowledge of how providers are loaded is helpful.

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
