Summary

The Clinical and Affordability Analytics team’s mission is to improve customer value and affordability across Cigna Medicare. We accomplish this through data driven analytics, strategic insights, and cross departmental collaboration with our Cigna matrix partners. The team operates in a highly dynamic environment, collaborating across segments, and on a wide variety of total cost of care (TCC) reduction initiatives.

The Business Analytics Lead Analyst will be responsible for providing strategic analytics to business partners in a format that is digestible by both technical and non-technical business leaders. This resource will work in a cross-functional environment performing analyses for a variety of stakeholders to support the development, implementation, and success of affordability initiatives across the enterprise. The analyst will be asked to work with healthcare claims data, clinical outcomes data, and financial data to make recommendations based on relevant findings. The analyst will also monitor the performance of affordability initiatives, working in partnership with stakeholders to close any performance gaps and drive achievement of financial targets. In addition, this resource will deepen the team’s business analytics capabilities and improve our ability to innovate and expand upon our impact in serving our customers, stakeholders and the business.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial statements that detail the prospective performance of a wide variety of TCC reduction initiatives

  • Steer TCC performance through routine report outs to key stakeholders and analytics partners

  • Assist with the completion of exploratory opportunity analyses that drive affordability investment

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure initiatives achieve projected targets, and steer course correction via data driven insights

  • Demonstrate healthcare experience in quantifying, measuring and analyzing financial and utilization metrics

  •    Simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple assignments, working independently and with other teams

  •    Document processes and procedures for team and stakeholder utilization

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' increasingly complex database and data management responsibilities

  • Intermediate SQL database management and query design skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate and problem solve with all levels (technical analysts, IT, leadership, etc.)

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills

  • Healthcare experience preferred

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $70,400 - $117,400, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
