This role will report to the Actuarial Analytics practice and will utilize various data tools to architect data science solutions within the Medicare market and the PBM Health space. The role will be best suited for candidates with strong Machine Learning (ML) and data science background as well as an interest in working to help solve problems that will matrix and allow for development to understand the background in the Medicare Part D space to develop robust drug trends, clinical disease, and drug management solutions.

This role allows for deep dive into existing actuarial analyses for the drug landscape spanning governmental drug and medical programs.

Product Support & Development

  • Construct frameworks and deploy ML to analyze large amounts of health data to identify patterns and anomalies to identify clinical and disease management opportunities.

  • Utilize ML to identify patient comorbidities cohorts, extrapolate patient spending patterns, close information asymmetry gap, and create educational opportunities to demystify prescription drug coverage for beneficiaries.

  • Use ML methods to improve the speed and accuracy of beneficiary risk assessments for better segmenting risk profiles and identifying at-risk beneficiaries.

  • Perform financial analysis of proposed regulatory changes, and other program changes by CMS to determine the financial impact on various entities within the drug supply chain

  • Build analytics Minimum Viable Product (MVP) products and project management functions and facilitate effective pilot analytics improvement processes to accelerate and safeguard improvements.

  • Identify and develop the right talent for the team to deliver on our innovative analytics roadmap

  • Lead technology and cultural change in Data Science within the actuarial team and organization at large to deliver data-driven health insights

  • Advanced trend analytics

  • Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) / member profitability projections

  • Formulary Strategy

  • Clinical Analytics around prescription drugs pipeline products

  • Member risk score benchmark analysis

  • Assimilate macro and micro trends, develop benchmarks, and gather competitive intelligence to develop market competitive strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or other quantitative fields strongly preferred

  • 4+ years of Data Science, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics or related experience

  • Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), healthcare or pharmaceutical experience preferred

  • Understanding of fundamental health care and Medicare knowledge preferred

  • Proven capabilities in modeling, forecasting, and predictive analytics

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to gather and analyze information to aid in the growth of existing businesses and the building of new businesses

  • Coding skills in either SQL / SAS required; Python / R other languages preferred

Understanding of Structured Data and Machine Learning Models:

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (like TensorFlow or PyTorch ) preferred

  • Industry or academic experience working on a range of Machine Learning problems.

  • Strong data science skills with a focus on building sound and scalable Machine Learning

  • A real passion for finding, analyzing, and incorporating the latest research, technologies, and techniques directly into a production environment.

  • Understanding of neural networks preferred


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 95,300 - 158,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
