What work Will you Be Doing as an Associate NLP Engineer at Evolent Health?

As an Associate NLP engineer/scientist with Data science team you will work with varied unstructured data and build real world operational AI and Machine learning products which will have a positive impact on Members and Providers while reducing cost of healthcare and improving affordability of Health care to wider population.

The Data science team helps with identifying potential disease and patient health risk factors, automating administrative work without human touch, if possible, brings down cost of care by identifying and eliminating fraud waste and Abuse, and improves member health and satisfaction. We have structured and unstructured data in the form of image, text, voice to Analyse and build practical and operational data science products and applications.

As an Associate NLP Scientist/Engineer you will also have an opportunity to network with other Data scientists, Business units and company leaders along with professional growth opportunities, career mentorship and plenty of volunteering and networking opportunities. 

Your Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities as an Associate Data Scientist/Engineer (NLP)?

  • Take part in Research and Development of new products around unstructured data for Health language understanding, reasoning, and processing including information retrieval 
  • Maintenance of existing machine learning and data science products related to unstructured Data and support product, software, and tools to run business
  • Work with Lead, immediate managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver efficient models, visualization, research outcomes, and products
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with peers, Leads, managers, and stakeholders on delivery, issues, and expectations
  • Writing efficient code, provide production support, use automated testing, use continuous build, and deploy tools for 24x7 business support 
  • Build Operational Dashboards for Health language related Visualizations for monitoring model performance and KPI’s
  • Support documentation of work and products using tools like but not limited to confluence, power point, word, JIRA, Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.

Your Requirements to join as an Associate Data Scientist/Engineer (NLP) with Data Science Team

  • Background in Computer Science/Computer Applications or any quantitative discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics/Operations Research etc.) from a reputed institute.
  • Overall 1+ years of experience using in NLP and related software’s, packages, and libraries for unstructured data
  • 1+ years of experience with Major cloud providers like Azure, AWS and GCP for Machine learning related work and Operations
  • Candidate should have exposure/knowledge with SQL and NoSQL Databases
  • 1+ years of Software programming experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java to write production level code
  • Experience building REST API’s

Mandatory Requirements:

Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
